A British company founded in 2004
If someone lives on their own it is essential they are checked on each day because if they are seriously incapacitated they probably will not be able to activate an alarm and could be left waiting for help for days.
If someone falls or is unwell
how long might they be left alone?
Independent studies show that less than 50% of people with pendant alarms are wearing them at any given time and that even fewer of those people again actually use them in an emergency.
That's not to say pendant alarms don't have value because they do, but that value is sometimes overstated and they have no value in determining if someone is safe each day. The value of pull cord alarms fitted in to rooms (i.e. not worn) is even lower because they are often out of reach in an emergency.
Many people saved from life threatening situations by daily checks are found in independent living communities or sheltered accommodation schemes, unconscious on the floor without ever having activated a pull cord or pendant alarm. That's why daily checks are essential.
The service keeps people safe
and gives freedom.
Organisations who are genuinely concerned with the safety of their residents need to properly educate them as to the importance of their daily check and that it could save their life.
Safety Confirmation enables you to check on your residents in an efficient way every day of the year in such a way that would be impractical by any other means and it is preferred to traditional morning calls by most residents in our experience.
