1. Is installing the equipment easy?

Most people install our equipment without any trouble. Safety Confirmation customers simply need to to plug in a new telephone in to a regular telephone socket. Panic button customers need to plug in a small device about the size of a dinner plate in to both a telephone socket and a power socket. Full and clear instructions are included and we are on hand to talk you through the process.

2. What happens if I am going away?

You let us know by pressing the Customer Services button on the Alertacall Telephone which connects you through to us free of charge or by calling us on freephone 0808 156 5777.

3. Do I have to replace my existing telephone?

You do not have to replace your existing telephone if you do not want to. The Alertacall Telephone can be used alongside your existing telephone if you want. Built in to the wire that goes to the telephone socket on the Alertacall Telephone is as an adapter that lets you plug your original phone in at the same time.

4. How long do I have to use you?

You can cancel the service at any time although will not be refunded for the month in which you cancel.

5. What are the payment options?

The monthly fee is collected by Direct Debit at the start of each month. Alternatively you can pay 6 months in advance by cheque or credit/debit card. You can pay for the setup fee by cheque or by credit/debit card.

6. Am I eligible for VAT relief?

If the Alertacall user is on any long term medication or has any chronic illness for example arthritis, diabetes or heart disease they are entitled to VAT relief which means VAT is charged at 0% instead of 15%. The Alertacall user or someone acting on their behalf will need to sign a VAT Relief declaration form which we will send.
