There are a lot of good business cases for your organisation to use Safety Confirmation

It's easy for residents to use the service and it's easy to build a solid business case because there are so many benefits.

The main reasons independent living communities, housing providers and other support organisations are getting in touch with us. Which best describes your needs?

1 Our customers want more freedom

It's easy for an organisation that's been making traditional morning calls for years to assume that is what residents want. In fact what residents want in our experience is freedom, privacy, control over their daily contact and support as and when they actually need it. This can all be accomplished with Safety Confirmation.

2 We need to move to 'floating' support

Many housing providers have implemented a floating support model, whereby a Support Officer takes responsibility for several resident groups within a chosen area. Although it has efficiency advantages this model can make it difficult for the Support Officer to check all the residents are safe every day. Safety Confirmation assists the Support Officer by checking on the residents and directing the Support Officer to those residents who actually need support across the resident groups they are covering.

3 We need cover when there is no staff

Many organisations are looking for an efficient way to check residents are safe over periods when no staff are available for example weekends or over periods of staff leave. This is often driven by an incident with a resident becoming unwell or falling and being left for days because no daily checks had been made. Safety Confirmation provides cover 365 days a year.

4 We need to check on a group of people and are not currently doing so

Some organisations are taking a pro-active approach to ensuring the safety of their older residents by recognising that there are substantial numbers of older or disabled people to whom they have a duty of care who would benefit from a daily check. Safety Confirmation is the most efficient way to achieve that.

5 We need more time for residents

Various pressures on support staff leave them with increasingly little time to provide hands-on support to residents who need it. Instead of spending staff time making morning calls to residents Safety Confirmation can free up that time so that it can be used to deal with more pressing resident issues and provide more time for face to face support if that is what your service demands.

6 We want to reduce the risk of being sued

Housing providers need to accurately log all daily contact they have with residents to reduce the risk of a resident being left unwell without support or simply to be able to defend the accusation of such. With Safety Confirmation you will know when the safety of a resident was confirmed to the second, it is recorded automatically.

7 We need to introduce preventative telecare to our residents

Safety Confirmation has proven itself as highly effective way to introduce preventative telecare to your residents or local community. The service is very easy to install, reassuring for carers and changes in the times that people press their I am okay button, for example someone becomes forgetful or presses it more than they should, can be indicative of a change in their support needs or well-being.

8 Our monitoring centre has been asked to provide this service

Many monitoring centres want to be able to provide Safety Confirmation to their own residents. We can provide your monitoring centre with everything it needs to provide the service with full support and minimal need to involve your IT department.
