Bromford Housing Association is one of the biggest housing associations in the country, with 45,000 homes across central and south-west England.
Alertacall has been working closely with Bromford since 2015, when we first deployed our Alertacall devices and our OKEachDay for Housing service to 1,329 sheltered dwellings. Bromford’s housing team were so thrilled with our service that they asked us to provide a full digital transformation solution at their Barton Court retirement living scheme in Gloucestershire.
Barton Court has 42 one and two-bedroom flats, as well as communal and guest facilities, and gardens. In addition to implementing our award-winning OKEachDay for Housing service that they know and love, Bromford also wanted to implement the Alertacall alternative to a warden call alarm system that was also digital switchover ready.
The successful digital transformation included:
- Alertacall’s touchscreen devices with video calling, repairs reporting and messaging applications
- Video door entry system
- OKEachDay for Housing service (daily housing related contact 365 days a year)
- Smoke alarm interconnectivity
- Digital Alarm Base Units throughout communal areas
- GO alarm pendants with GPS location and falls detection
- Scheme-wide WiFi installation
- Decommissioning of the legacy warden call system
Helen Shields, Head of Retirement Living, Bromford Housing said: “Alertacall’s touchscreen linked to the video door entry panel has allowed residents to remotely grant and deny access from their portable touchscreen in their own homes. They have reported feeling far more safe and secure at home as a result. The ability to see the visitor on the touchscreen is very innovative and reassuring for our residents. Alertacall’s internet enabled housing service has provided a significant upgrade in functionality compared to our previous hard wired alarm system.
Residents themselves have also shared with us how the new digital services have provided them with confidence and reassurance. Keith Plumridge, a resident at Barton Court, said the new Alertacall system is “very user friendly” and helps him to feel “safe and secure, giving him peace of mind”.
