News from Alertacall plus articles and insights on how to enhance outcomes for people with higher needs in the housing, health and social care sectors.
Alertacall services provide a valuable aid to the many groups who have learning disabilities for housing associations, local authorities or for their own personal benefit.
According to Mencap around 1.4 million in the UK are affected in some way with a learning disability, which are classified as being mild, medium or severe. These can be conditions that affect an individual’s ability to plan and organise, and many condition have an impact on memory. The effect of having a learning disability also increases the possibility of experiencing a mental health issue. However, unlike mental health issues for those with learning disabilities it is a lifelong challenge.
Our services provide support to these higher needs individuals, enabling them to cope independently, especially for those living alone. This in turns helps them manage with their condition and increase their wellbeing.
We provide a daily check, either initiated by the individual or by Alertacall. This works very successfully with those who may be forgetful and do not press their OKEachDay button or have forgotten the process if they need help personally or at their property.
