Communications Manager

This is an amazing opportunity to shape a newly created position within a passionate and fast growing organisation.

Alertacall is an innovative provider of services in the social housing, health and social care sectors driven by improving the lives of higher needs individuals. We increase levels of contact, improve health and safety, and reduce social isolation. Today, around 20,000 individuals benefit from our services.

The company has developed a market leading proposition, which is lower cost, more versatile and includes many unique features that will bring huge benefits to the social housing providers across the UK. As a result, we are creating an exciting new role to accelerate the awareness of our new services, and which underlines our thought leadership in the sector.

Based on a raft of innovations introduced in 2021 we anticipate doubling the size of Alertacall in the next 3 years, and we are seeking an ambitious individual to spearhead this growth.

What you’ll be doing

The successful applicant will be responsible for our external communications, and will work with other members of the Business Development Team to promote the services that Alertacall provides, and which ultimately leads to the acquisition of new social housing provider clients. This includes introducing our more flexible alternative to hard wired (‘Warden call’) alarm systems in sheltered and supported housing.

Reporting to the Business Development Director the main responsibilities include:

  • Formulate and implement a communications strategy for Alertacall in the housing, health and social care sectors
  • Produce marketing literature and sales materials for the Business Development team, including promotional brochures, training materials for client staff and resident leaflets.
  • Lead the creation of ‘White papers’ and thought leadership pieces
  • Be responsible for digital content creation including blogs, newsletters, SEO and remarketing activity
  • Develop the social media strategy and manage the Alertacall social media accounts
  • Be the primary point of contact for advertising, media and PR agencies
  • Lead the management of the website, including content production and optimise the number of leads and enquiries that the website generates
  • Lead the development of video content inc promotional and testimonial work
  • Develop industry partnerships to enable Alertacall content to be placed, and manage engagement with third party sites e.g. Housing Digital, CIH
  • Maintain the brand pack and ensure communications are developed adhering to branding principles

Who we’re looking for

The ideal candidate must be an excellent written communicator, ideally with a background in sales related communications. Experience in social housing, health or social care is valuable, but not essential. We are seeking someone able to demonstrate a track record in producing written content that is accurate, readable, and persuasive. Some experience of working in an environment that requires complex themes to be communicated in an easy to understand way will be highly desirable.

We are seeking someone who establishes strong working relationships with work colleagues, and we actively recruit people who are committed to helping individuals of higher needs, and share our company values.

The role will require regular travel to our two offices in Warrington and Windermere, although the successful candidate will also be able to work from home.

Client Development Manager

This is an amazing opportunity to join a passionate and progressive organisation.

We are looking for someone to help increase our social housing client base by promoting existing and new Alertacall services to the sector. With a full understanding of our product range the successful candidate will generate leads, nurture them through contractual frameworks, and work with our other teams on subsequent service implementation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Attend industry events to promote Alertacall services and generate new leads
  • Use other channels and networks to generate new leads
  • Maintain regular contact (telephone, face to face, video and email depending on need) with all prospects and foster good relationships
  • Seek opportunities to increase the number of stakeholders within prospect organisations, especially economic buyers
  • Develop proposals for pilots and the full implementation of services
  • Be responsible for your own prospects, working with the team to move leads along the pipeline in order to convert them into clients
  • Carry out presentations to client staff and their residents to allow them to fully understand our services, their features and benefits
  • Ensure the smooth handover of newly acquired clients to the account management team

Who we’re looking for

Reporting directly to the Head of Client Development, the ideal candidate will be service/client orientated with previous sales and business development experience and have worked within a business to business client facing role.

We’re particularly interested to speak with people who have one or more of the following:

1)     previously worked with or in the Social Housing Sector

2)     previously sold services into the Social Housing Sector

3)     prior experience with any of the following: commercial WiFi, door entry systems, repairs reporting management, smoke alarms

As an effective communicator with excellent influencing and negotiation techniques, you’ll be competent in the generation of new leads, have experience of cold calling and the ability to present confidently.

You’ll be able to absorb new information quickly, utilise problem solving skills and act accordingly. Working as part of a team within a project framework, you will manage day to day tasks to ensure deadlines are met.  With self-discipline you will also possess the ability to work independently.

As you’d expect, we need someone who is IT Literate, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and ideally Google suite.

Whilst the role is principally home based, there will be a hybrid of virtual and in person meetings – the latter requiring some UK wide travel so you must have a car & be willing to stay away from home. Ideally located within the M4 Corridor (London commutable), as the territory covers from South Birmingham to the South Coast.

Quantity Surveyor (Qualified or Training)

The role holder for this important position will be an active leadership point within the team for our next generation of innovations to ensure we deliver our services in line with our Mission and Values.

Are you looking for that next career opportunity – that will allow you to build on your experience to date amongst a dynamic team that is really focussed on delivering the best outcomes for our customers, so many of which need our support.

You’ll be involved in a variety of projects in a client facing role, involved in the Bid & Solution Design, Scoping and Implementation of our services. You’ll be working with and managing our subcontractors alongside our Project Manager acting as the point of Compliance and Quality control.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is either qualified, or training as a Quantity Surveyor.

  • Health & Safety Qualified/Trained, competent in RAMS.

  • Is an assertive communicator that can listen sensitively and is able to adapt communication to the audience both internally and externally.

  • Has the ability to engage, motivate and support multiple subcontractors.

  • Takes accountability for the delivery of projects, seeing through from conception to completion, with a real focus on detail.

  • Works in partnership with sub contractors and our strategic partners.

  • Is able to identify issues, obstacles, and opportunities and then develop and implement effective solutions, helping clients to implement the best solution.

  • Can manage costs against a budget, including and change in line with adjustments in project scope.

  • Competent in the use of CAD tools.

Full stack software developer

A fantastic opportunity for a talented Full-Stack Software Developer to become part of our team based in beautiful Windermere, extending the platform that powers our unique business and helping us create superb new products that will improve lives. The role offers a high degree of freedom to explore emergent technologies. This role is home based with the occasional need to travel.

You will need proven experience of bringing software projects to life within an agile team using Python, AngularJS, RESTful services/microservices and various other technologies like Node.js that are used in modern web applications. You will also be supporting migration between technologies.

Working pattern
