Alertacall gives Warrington Youth Zone a boost

Warrington Youth Zone has received a significant boost thanks to a generous £10,000 donation from Alertacall, the organisation known for its commitment to improving the lives of older people through technology and human contact. Alertacall employs around 70 people in Warrington and has an office at The Base.

The contribution marks Alertacall becoming an official Impact Patron of the Youth Zone, demonstrating the company’s dedication to local young people and the wider Warrington community, alongside its extensive work with local older people.

In addition to financial support, Alertacall’s Founder and CEO, James Batchelor MBE, and Emma Dalzell, Head of Marketing, will be volunteering their time with the Youth Zone’s employability programme. Their visits will offer young people invaluable insight into entrepreneurship and work, covering topics such as creativity, becoming an inventor, and personal branding. Their involvement aims to inspire and empower young people to develop confidence and broaden their aspirations.

I am also thrilled James and Emma will be coming onboard as volunteers too, further helping the young people who visit us each day.”

Some of our own team members have children that attend, so I’ve heard first hand the positive difference it makes. Across 2026 we are also hoping to share – in fun and engaging ways – some of what we’ve learned over the years with these kids, to help them discover new passions, believe in themselves, and be in a better place to find careers and lives they love. Warrington Youth Zone
Warrington Youth Zone is a purpose-built facility for young people aged 7–19, or up to 25 for those with a disability. Open seven days a week, it offers more than 20 activities each evening, including rock climbing, football, art, music, podcasting, and boxing. Beyond recreation, the Youth Zone delivers programmes focused on mental health, confidence-building, and employability. Its mission is to ensure every young person has Somewhere to go, Someone to Talk To, and Something To Do.

Alertacall
Alertacall was founded in 2004 and works with social housing and retirement living providers to help them have better two-way contact with older and other vulnerable people. It does this by combining clever digital engagement technology and contact from a specially trained team who are based in Warrington. The company has planted more than 25,000 trees in the Lake District, and supports a number of social projects. It was also awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation – one of the most prestigious awards that can be bestowed on a British company.
