Alertacall will be hosting a series of three Ideas Labs in 2020 in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Housing (‘CIH’). The ‘Ideas Labs’ bring new ideas and best practice in social housing from selected organisations. Each online session is free to attend, and is designed to offer housing professionals a fantastic learning and networking experience in the comfort of their own home.

The first Alertacall Ideas Lab will be held on 16 July 2020, 2 – 4 pm and is entitled:

‘Successful strategies for improving digital engagement and resident communication during Covid-19’

Over three quarters of housing providers (77%) are looking to increase the number of services that can be managed digitally (CIH June 2019). For some, it is to give residents more choice in the way they access services and improve customer service. Equally, increasing digital access for residents also helps to make better use of existing resources and cut costs.

The session takes a closer look at some of the barriers to digital engagement for housing providers and explores strategies for overcoming these, including Alertacall’s Housing Proactive service, a housing management system which increases contact with older residents and individuals with higher needs. We’ll explore how this system was able to increase digital access, reduce social isolation and improve customer care, despite housing staff being required to work remotely during the coronavirus outbreak.

What will the session cover?

  • Identify the challenges of digital engagement for your organisation and how to overcome them
  • How digital services can create other barriers, such as increasing social isolation and loneliness; why technology should not be a replacement for human contact
  • Learn how digital engagement and resident communication has evolved during the recent Coronavirus outbreak
  • Listen to a case study – delivering an effective housing service during lockdown and helping older residents engage digitally with their housing service

Speakers

The Ideas Lab will be chaired and presented by Martin Cutbill, Director of Alertacall.
The case study will be delivered by Saffron Housing Trusts’ project manager of older person strategy, Suzy Horth and Tracey Harris who is head of wellbeing and partnerships.

Speakers can answer any questions you submit and, after the session, you’ll be able to discuss the issues raised further with other delegates in the networking lounge.
