Alertacall were delighted to partner with Matt Baird from District 4 and The Social Roundtable to host a round table at The Midland Hotel in Manchester.

Attended by over 40 guests, including the President, Lara Oyedele and Vice-President Jill Haley BA FCIH of the CIH,  along with tenants, heads of service, external consultants, managers, people looking to move into the sector, and directors of a selection of Housing Associations, this 90-minute discussion cut to the heart of some of the challenges facing the social housing sector with the key message being – the time for lip-service is over.

The conversation covered how culture, tenant satisfaction, and staff attraction and retention are all synonymously linked. The discussion flowed around the table, with people sharing insight, knowledge and first-hand experiences. The consensus was that the sector needs to ask more “difficult” questions, truly challenge poor culture where we see it and embrace diversity.

Thank you to everyone who attended and also to Matt Baird for being a wonderful host.

Roundtables are a great way to get people together and push forward the agenda for social housing. Alertacall is always keen to contribute to discussions, offering practical solutions to some of the day-to-day challenges that are facing housing providers.
