Alertacall is Shortlisted for Two Prestigious Industry Awards in Housing

Alertacall is delighted that our dedication and work in the social housing sector has received industry recognition, as we have been nominated in two categories of the Housing Digital Innovations Awards 2022:

Most Innovative Supplier – Alertacall 

Most Innovative New Product – Environmental sensor, Envosense

The awards are a celebration of the products and services that are shaping UK Housing today. Our nominations are a recognition that we are making a significant contribution to the housing sector. 

In particular, helping social landlords to reimagine how their services are delivered in supported accommodation, and addressing some of the key challenges facing providers in 2022.  This includes increasing resident engagement in line with the aims of the Social Housing White Paper, tackling digital inclusion, and developing innovative Digital Switchover solutions.

Alertacall’s Housing Proactive service, an enhanced housing management system, enables housing providers to take a more proactive approach to housing management, and to create safer and more digitally connected homes. 

As part of the Housing Proactive service, residents are provided with a simple to use and specially developed portable touchscreen which makes it easy for them to engage with their housing service without the need for WiFi to be in place. The touchscreen can be deployed with a range of housing management features, including a free repairs reporting app or Alertacall’s pioneering OKEachDay system for housing. 

Housing Proactive is used by over 50 housing providers across the UK. Feedback we have received from our clients is extremely positive, with many describing the service as being ‘invaluable’ during the COVID-19 pandemic as it has enabled them to maintain strong connections with residents and keep them better informed. 

Alertacall has developed additional services, including, WiFi, video door entry, digital telecare and a comprehensive fire safety system, to provide a cost effective WiFi based alternative to hardwired systems. These services can be implemented within a matter of weeks and at a fraction of the cost to hardwired alarm systems.

It is also fantastic to have Envosense, our environmental sensor, nominated for an award. Envosense is an easy to install, low cost IoT sensor that measures humidity and temperature to help reduce repairs bills through the early detection of issues. Data collected hourly shows changes in humidity and temperature, which can be indicative of damp, poor ventilation and heating failures. It can also help to identify potential fuel poverty or payment arrears. Through its advanced online reporting, housing teams can see where further investigation may be required with residents and this helps landlords comply with the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018.

The Housing Digital Innovation Awards nominations highlight the work undertaken by our team to help social landlords transform how they deliver services for older people and those with higher needs. However, we will not be resting on our laurels. We are constantly reviewing how we can introduce further improvements, using AI technology and also new applications.
