News from Alertacall plus articles and insights on how to enhance outcomes for people with higher needs in the housing, health and social care sectors.
Alertacall is proud to announce further expansion of its services into Scotland. Queens Cross Housing Association (‘Queens Cross’) based in Glasgow has adopted Alertacall’s unique housing management system, Housing Proactive, to service over 400 properties classified as supported accommodation for older people.
Queens Cross is a community based housing association which provides nearly 4,300 homes in an area that stretches north from Glasgow city centre along either side of the Forth and Clyde Canal. It has a dedicated Older People’s Service which provides extra support for association tenants aged 60 or over to help them live independently for longer.
Housing Proactive was successfully implemented at Queens Cross in April 2019. Tenants in older persons accommodation were given access to equipment with which they routinely engage with to collect news, updates and other important information in relation to their property or tenancy. Engagement also proactively confirms occupancy and that there are no outstanding repairs or issues that need reporting.
If service users choose not to engage with their device, a highly trained member of the Housing Proactive team will contact the resident. The service operates 365 days a year and provides a range of housing management reports which the housing team can access in real time online for improved work planning.
Louise Smith, Director of Neighbourhood Services, stated:
“Promoting community health and wellbeing is one of our strategic aims at Queens Cross Housing Association. Supporting older people to live independently at home is one of the ways we deliver this. Adding the OKEachDay system has given our older tenants reassurance that they can contact us quickly and easily for assistance with their tenancy. It also gives peace of mind to those who live alone.”
Martin Cutbill, Director of Alertacall, commented:
‘We are delighted to be working in partnership with Queens Cross and to have them join our ever growing client base in Scotland. The Housing Proactive service will enable Queens Cross to share information with tenants in supported accommodation and clarify service delivery in ways which are more accessible and relevant to them. Our team is already receiving really positive feedback from tenants.
The system will increase service efficiency by helping to focus staff time and resource and will also help the team at Queens Cross detect changing housing needs earlier. We look forward to working with the team going forward.’
