News from Alertacall plus articles and insights on how to enhance outcomes for people with higher needs in the housing, health and social care sectors.
Who is Kieron and what is your role?
Hi, I am the Installations and Engineer Manager at Alertacall. I have been with Alertacall since 2013 and I am responsible for planning and implementing the installation of our services into customers’ properties.
What does a typical day look like?
This can vary greatly. I could be planning an install for a Housing Provider in properties across the country, or we could be in customers’ homes installing our services, so I may be managing that. These installs can be any number from fifty properties to thousands of properties. We also have Engineers spread around the country whose work needs coordinating and appointments arranging for them. Their role is to go into our customers’ homes and install our service for any new residents that have recently moved in, or help those who may need the service explaining to them.
What do you like most about working at Alertacall?
I enjoy working as a team with my colleagues – some of us have worked together for many years. I joined Alertacall when it was a fairly small company and have enjoyed watching it grow. I like what we do as a company; helping people to be independent in their homes and the innovation of new solutions that keep the business moving forward, which makes working at Alertacall interesting and challenging.
Outside of Alertacall, what makes you tick?
I live in the Lake District so enjoy walking up the hills and flying down them using a parachute. My main passion is Skydiving. I am in a Skydive display team called The Ospreys and as an instructor have taught dozens of people to Skydive over the years, including my two sons.
Tell us one thing we might not know about you
I once appeared on a TV programme called You Bet with Bruce Forsyth where I attempted to jump out of a plane and parachute onto the back of a moving motorbike (I missed!).
