We’re excited to be sponsoring two of the peaks for mental health advocate, Alex Staniforth’s 446 challenge!
Alex, who is a record-breaking adventurer, inspirational keynote speaker and author, is taking on the epic challenge of climbing all 446 mountains in England and Wales in one continuous and self powered journey, running every summit and cycling between them. All in less than 50 days! Alex will run or cycle more than 2,900km with a total ascent of 86,000m – the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest almost ten times!
Alex is aiming to raise at least £100,000 for Project 500 as part of his Mind Over Mountains charity – co-founded in 2020, which delivers professionally supported outdoor walking experiences to restore and sustain mental wellbeing. The funds will allow the charity to expand into Scotland by 2026 and enable 1,000 people to attend guided walks and retreats, combining mountain walking, mindfulness, and one-to-one coaching and counselling.
One of the peaks we’re sponsoring is the beautiful Blencathra in Alertacall’s home of the Lake District. And on 20th June, we’re going to be climbing the mountain and cheering on the inspirational Alex Staniforth as he reaches the summit! As the team will be in the Lake District, we will also take the perfect opportunity to see the 25k (and counting!) trees which we have planted on behalf of our lovely customers!
