News from Alertacall plus articles and insights on how to enhance outcomes for people with higher needs in the housing, health and social care sectors.
Who is Fleur and what is your role?
I am Alertacall’s Business Analyst and Compliance Officer, and I have been with the company for 12 years now. My role is predominantly based within Tech, however, it does require collaboration with most departments at some point or another! I gather, review and prioritise requirements for our products and services, as well as manage the company’s commitment to its quality and information security certifications.
What does a typical day look like?
My days vary depending on current company objectives, BUT you can usually assume that it involves a review of our compliance status. This might mean conducting my own compliance tasks, updating a group on the company schedule for compliance, facilitating audits (or being audited!) or writing, reviewing and approving documentation. I will also keep in regular contact with Tech, Operations and Customer Success about any work that is being developed, so I can ensure that there’s awareness, training, deployment plans and engagement with new features. I manage the support desk alongside these things, so I always have a half-eye on any tech support requests that come in to make sure we are offering the best responses and support that we can. I spend the day answering a lot of questions!
What do you like most about working at Alertacall?
The main thing I like about working at Alertacall is working for a company that ultimately does good. It makes a difference to a lot of vulnerable people’s lives, and that’s a nice thing to be able to say you are involved in. Secondary to this, I like the variety it brings; you can guess that from my typical day. Both of my roles need input from the wider team, so I get the bonus of being able to work alongside so many different disciplines.
Outside of Alertacall, what makes you tick?

I like to spend as little time sitting down as possible! I play for/coach a women’s rugby team for my home town, I am mid-house renovation (still deciding if it was a good or bad idea), and I also love to swim outdoors. Lakes, rivers, the sea – whatever, as long as it’s wet and there’s some nice landscape nearby. If I get to do any of these things with friends and family, that makes it all the better.
Tell us one thing we might not know about you
I was lucky enough to be selected for the Cumbria women’s rugby team in 2024. I was selected as Vice Captain, and we made it to the final, where we got to play at Twickenham – which was incredible!
