Meet the Team – Melissa Tullett, HR and LMS Project Specialist

Who is Mel and what is your role?

Hi, I’m Mel, and I’m the HR and LMS Project Specialist here at Alertacall. In a nutshell, I create engaging training content for our learning platform, Alertacall Academy. For a number of years before this, I supported our HR function as Alertacall’s HR Advisor. During that time, I also completed a CIPD Level 5 in People Management, which is where the ‘HR Specialist’ part comes in.

What does a typical day look like?

A typical work day starts with checking emails and chat messages for anything urgent. I use a Project Tracker to organise my work, so that’s my next stop. I look to see which pieces of content are highest priority, and work on those first. This might include writing a script for a training video, drafting content layouts, recording audio, or speaking with key stakeholders. It’s the perfect role for me; it’s very creative and there’s a lot of self discipline involved, which is where I thrive. I also love ticking things off my ‘To Do’ list, so that’s a big plus, too!

What do you like most about working at Alertacall?

I have worked at Alertacall since 2016, so I’ve seen the company change and grow over several years. Whenever anyone asks me why I love working here, I always answer because of the people. It’s so important to work with people who truly care, and that’s what working at Alertacall is all about.

Outside of Alertacall, what makes you tick?

I grew up in the Lake District and we live on the side of a fell, so I love being in the outdoors, and I’m a sucker for a good view. If I’m not at work, I’m usually splashing in muddy puddles with my daughter or having a cup of tea in the field next to our house. There’s a highland cow who lives there, and we like to keep her company!

Tell us one thing we might not know about you?

In 2012 I graduated with First Class Honours from my Photography Degree, and one of my landscape photography series was featured in the British Journal of Photography.
