At Alertacall we encourage community engagement amongst our team members and give paid time to do volunteering work. In recognition of this, the whole Alertacall team went out litter picking in locations close to both our Windermere (Cumbria) and Warrington (Cheshire) offices.

The litter picks took place over the course of 4 days as part of our quarterly employee forums. Despite some very mixed weather conditions, it was fantastic to see everyone coming together to do an activity that had a real positive impact in our local communities.

This forms part of our continuing work to promote and celebrate our company values. Last year the whole company was involved in creating these, they are Progressive, Passionate, Caring, Knowledgeable and Reliable. Since then, a dedicated team has been set up to integrate the values into all that is Alertacall. The litter picking was a local initiative put in place by the ‘Values Team’ following feedback from individuals across the company.

The team has also introduced a ‘Values Framework’ which identifies the behaviours associated with each value and how we can demonstrate them in practice. Going forward, the framework will be used as a guide by Alertacall’s team members to make sure the values sit at the heart of all everyday decisions. This is only the beginning for the ‘Values Team’, as they continue to work on lots of other exciting and fun initiatives to involve everyone and bring Alertacall’s ‘values’ to life.

In addition, Alertacall is supporting one of its clients, One Manchester, over the Summer with its ‘Holiday Hunger Project’. Alertacall team members are being given time away from the office to help staff at One Manchester prepare and distribute healthy lunches. These will be for children who normally receive free school meals, this helps parents who may be struggling with childcare and other costs over the summer holidays.
