We couldn’t be more proud of our CEO and founder, James Batchelor MBE, who attended his investiture ceremony earlier this month, alongside his family at St James’s Palace.

James was made MBE for ‘Services to Technology for Older People’ in the King’s Birthday Honours list and had the great honour of meeting The Princess Royal, Princess Anne.

The Princess asked several excellent questions about the invention of the ‘I am okay’ button, how we go about getting our technology in to the homes of older people and what kinds of organisations we work with.

The palace itself was commissioned by Henry VIII 👑 in 1531 and as you would expect, has some splendid rooms. The throne room is where all our monarchs have ascended to power for hundreds of years and where James met the Princess.

St James’s Palace is apparently considered the most senior of all British royal palaces and James was told it is not that common for investitures to be performed there because it is considered a ‘more private’ royal venue – they were there because of a refurbishment at Buckingham Palace.

We love the photos, especially the one below of James and his family on what must have been the most special day!

Congratulations James on this very well deserved accolade🎉
