Who is Phil and what is your role?

Hello! Phil here! I’m the new Head of Customer Success and I lead a glorious team dedicated to ensuring that our clients and customers are continuously delighted by the Alertacall products and services.

What does a typical day look like?

In light of working exceptionally close to our clients, the day is normally made up of online or in-person meetings to discuss with front line housing staff and their management teams where we are seeing the most impact from the utilisation of our products and services. It will often see the CS team then working in collaboration with ops and tech teams throughout our company to increase the value we can offer clients and devise strategies to expand the adoption by customers.

What do you like most about working at Alertacall?

Having lived a childhood where family was everything and grandparents were loved, I have found myself growing older wanting to maintain the support and strengthen the relationship between the older people in my family and my primary school aged son. Having an important job at a company which dedicates itself to making older people feel safer and more informed in their homes therefore syncs really well with me and my beliefs that people of that generation should be treated with dignity and respect.

Outside of Alertacall, what makes you tick?

I love getting outside, whether that’s playing a bit of sport with my son or cycling in my local area and discovering new paths and routes; there is always something exciting in the outdoors. Be it hill walking, sailing or half-marathon running, I’m up for most things and enjoy fresh challenges or finding a new skill I didn’t know I had!

Tell us one thing we might not know about you?

When I’m not working my day job, you’ll find me on the piste… not the one you first thought of then (which was probably covered in snow?), but the fencing piste! You see, since I was 10 years old I’ve been into the Olympic sport of fencing, competed in my teens at top national and European levels but now provide children with coaching in the sport within my role as volunteer Head Coach at a leading fencing club in Greater Manchester. I still compete a bit, doing a handful of national opens and participating in the GB veterans circuit, which is extremely competitive, I’ll tell you!
