News from Alertacall plus articles and insights on how to enhance outcomes for people with higher needs in the housing, health and social care sectors.
As we start to wind down for events over Summer, we take a look back at the events we took part in over the last couple of months!
In June, the UK housing sector came together in Manchester for Housing 2024. We were delighted to be able to demonstrate our ingenious technology and services by having a stand in the exhibition hall and it was wonderful to meet lots of old and new faces!

Our CEO and Founder, James Batchelor and Head of Client Development, Ben Lambert, were thrilled to take to the Insight stage alongside some of our clients including Places for People, Bromford and Johnnie Johnson Housing to discuss ‘How to improve two-way engagement with vulnerable customers – know your customers better’.
Increasing engagement with customers is one of the biggest challenges facing social housing and in this session the panellists shared their experience of digital inclusion and customer engagement including:
- Engaging with your most difficult-to-reach customers using digital and human contact
- Accelerating digital transformation in general needs, sheltered & supported housing
- Increasing customer satisfaction and independence
- Improving efficiency and detecting changing needs
- Meeting regulatory requirements
- Reducing loneliness and improving the mental health of customers and tenants
- Great attendance for the Alertacall panel

- James Batchelor, CEO and Founder at Alertacall
- Claire Bailey, Head of Innovation at Places for People
- Kate McArdell Broome, Assistant Director of Customer and Neighbourhoods at Johnnie Johnson Housing
During Housing 2024, we also sponsored and co-hosted Matt Baird’s The Social Housing Round Table in-person annual event. James joined Matt in discussing the topic of ‘How To Supercharge Your Customer Services’ over well deserved drinks and nibbles at The Midland hotel after a long day at the exhibition.
The event explored:
-using powerful & positive language with customers
-empowering your team members to give the best service
-making it easy for your customers to tell you what they need
-how the right technology choices improve customer experience
We also continue with our sponsorship of Matt Baird’s virtual round table sessions which take place every Tuesday morning. We have taken part in two of these sessions over the last couple of months and recordings to both can be found below.
In the first session, James was joined by Rob Pickering, AI Expert and Technologist to discuss ‘AI & the implications for Housing’.
The second session was a follow up to our in-person event in Manchester during Housing 2024 on ‘Supercharging your Customer Service offering in Social Housing’.
