The UK housing sector will come together on 25 – 27 June 2024 at Manchester Central and the Alertacall team will be on stand F33 to demonstrate how housing providers can have better two-way engagement with their customers through Alertacall’s  ingenious technology and award-winning human contact.

How to improve two-way engagement with vulnerable customers – know your customers better.

Increasing engagement with customers is one of the biggest challenges facing social housing. In this session, James Batchelor and Ben Lambert from Alertacall, Kevin Bennett from Bromford, Kate McArdell-Broome from Johnnie Johnson Housing and Claire Bailey from Places for People will share their experience of digital inclusion and customer engagement, including:

James Batchelor, CEO of Alertacall

 

 

As founder and CEO of Alertacall, James Batchelor has dedicated the last two decades to using technology and a specially trained, caring team to help housing providers have better two-way contact with older people.

The company’s first ever customer was James’ own gran, Eveline, and today tens of thousands of customers use Alertacall’s products to keep them safe, connected and informed every day.

 

 

Ben Lambert is the Head of Client Development at Alertacall and works closely with housing providers to improve two-way communication with customers and increase tenant satisfaction. He is responsible for client growth and excellent client satisfaction.

Ben’s primary focus has been on older persons services in sheltered and general needs housing, but has also expanded Alertacall’s offer into services specialising in mental health, learning difficulties, domestic violence and homelessness.

Over the last ten years Ben has worked with some of the UK’s largest housing associations bringing contact to life and helping their teams transform engagement with customers.

 

 

Kate McArdell-Broome

Kate McArdell-Broome, Assistant Director of Customer and Neighbourhoods at Johnnie Johnson Housing, is a strategic, senior leader with over fifteen years of housing experience across operations, resident engagement, and neighbourhood services. Kate’s extensive experience saw her successfully lead the development and implementation of Johnnie Johnson Housing’s ‘Customer First’ strategy, linking into legislation and best practice. Specifically focusing on transforming the operational direction of customer and neighbourhood’s teams, empowering colleagues to deliver outstanding services for our customers by doing best, what matters most. Kate’s passionate about ensuring outstanding service delivery for customers  through putting them first, hearing their views and acting on them and has a  wealth of knowledge to share from lived experiences on what works, what doesn’t and more importantly what you learn along the way.

 

Kevin BennettKevin joined Bromford in 2022 as Director of Localities and Customer Contact, bringing with him extensive experience of delivering high quality customer service and operational leadership. He has overall responsibility and accountability for customer engagement with neighbourhoods and communities, customer contact and complaints, retirement living and community investment teams.

Prior to joining Bromford he was Executive Director of Customer Transformation at Solihull Community Housing where he was instrumental in implementing a revised engagement model, Inclusive Services and transformational change around technology. Kevin has previously held senior leadership positions within the water sector and NHS, driving continuous improvement for the benefit of customers. He played a pivotal role in the transition to the NHS 111 service, and also delivered sector leading results across teams at Affinity Water.

 

Claire Bailey

 

Claire is Head of Innovation at Places for People, working on opportunities and projects to drive forward our aspirations to create thriving communities. Claire has over 23 years of experience working within Housing and is a Chartered Member of the CIH, and an Associate Board Member of Women in Social Housing North East. Claire is passionate about the vital role Social Housing plays within our society and is committed to finding creative solutions to the challenges we face.
