Meet the Team – Iain Wild, Project Manager

Who is Iain and what is your role?

Hi! I’m Iain Wild and I have been a Project Manager at Alertacall since September 2021

What does a typical day look like?

My typical day involves managing Beyond Warden Call installations and coordinating with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams at Alertacall. My role is akin to assembling a jigsaw puzzle. I oversee contractors, conduct site surveys for potential new schemes, accompany potential clients to post-installation schemes to showcase products in action, present to staff and residents of upcoming schemes, and conduct site audits upon completion to ensure work meets standards and is handed over to clients smoothly.

What do you like most about working at Alertacall?

I value the diversity of tasks and the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of people.

Outside of Alertacall, what makes you tick?

Outside of Alertacall, my life revolves around family. Time with my kids is an integral part of my life, where I relish in the simple pleasures of bonding over shared activities, and exploring new adventures.

Equally important to me is the cherished time spent socialising with friends, whether it’s gathering at a food festival, or simply enjoying each other’s company over a shared meal.

And let’s not forget about beer, particularly hazy ones, my favourite at the moment is Hazy Jane. I love a good beer festival, however, these are becoming expensive, so friends and I hold our own in the back garden, and sample a wide variety of beers from around the world.

Tell us one thing we might not know about you

I do enjoy going camping, anywhere in the UK and Europe, if I get the chance. While the weather sometimes can be hit and miss, I love freedom from the hustle and bustle of urban life. There’s a special feeling to waking up to the chorus of birdsong, breathing in the crisp morning air, and witnessing nature unfold right outside my tent flap.

From the rugged coastlines of Cornwall or the peaks of the Scottish Highlands, each camping excursion offers a new opportunity for exploration and discovery. Whether it’s embarking on scenic hikes, roasting marshmallows over campfires, or star spotting with the kids, being outside and free, feels great.
